Snake Road 2013 Part 2: Reptiles

Friday, February 21, 2014
Part 2 to my Snake Road 2013 posts is all about reptiles.  We saw some great turtles, lizards and snakes during our adventures.  The weather for the most part was beautiful and many reptiles were out enjoying the sun.  A couple of highlights for me were a Mississippi Green Water Snake (Nerodia cyclopion) and a Western Smooth Earth Snakes (Virginia valeriae elegans).  Of course anytime you see a Copperhead and Timber Rattlesnake is a treat.  Full list of species observed can be found below.  If you missed the post on the Amphibians of Snake Road it can be found by clicking this link: http://naturenotesblog.blogspot.ca/2014/01/snake-road-2014-part-1-amphibians.html
